Every region, in Italy, has own 'Traditional recipes for Christmas'.
Terni, the second Town in Umbria, has own recipes, and 'Panpepato' is the most famouse for Christmas.
Panpepato means 'Bread with pepper' ( or gingerbread, as I found in a translator vocabolary...)
These are the very particular ingredients of that awesome recipes.
I hope You'll enjoin it and you'll feel good to eat it.
I remember very well, when I was Young, we have had some parents in Terni, and every years, they gift to us 'Panpepato' it was too good!!!
Now, I want to offer to You the possibilty to cook it; I know is easy, also if I'm not a 'Chef', but only an 'happy user'...

Ingredients:
- Kg.1 of shelled walnuts,
- almonds already blanched 500 gr,
- gr. 500 Hazelnut,
- gr. 500, 1 of raisins,
- gr. 500 of candied fruit,
- 1 kg of honey,
- Kg 1 of dark chocolate,
- 1 kg of pine nuts,
- 1 envelope unsweetened cocoa,
- 1 bag of chocolate cake, 1 cup of Mistrà,
- 6 cups of coffee, nutmeg,
- 1 packet cinnamon
- 1 handful of sugar,
- pepper (according to taste),
- flour as needed
Preparation:
Chopped dried fruit after it toasted in the oven and add all other ingredients.
Sizes of the rolls diameter of about 8-10 cm. and brush them with honey.
Take the baking paper and foderateci (wrap with them) the plate of the oven.
The rounds Adagiateci (put in) and cook over medium heat for about 40 minutes.
